Farewell #3 - Ya Chee / Tecky

Another farewell post. Don't know how long i can stand doing this. I seriously need more friends now.

First up...

Lim Ya Chee, my kitchen duty buddy for camp this year. It's been a fun year getting to know both you and Timmy. You're one of the very few people who I know that have so much patience and commitment and it’s really encouraging. I’m still amazed at how you can wake up super early during camp, get ready and cook breakfast for the youths and then make sure everything’s in place and then head off to work where you'll come back again during lunch / after work and help. I really can't thank you enough. Although it’s been a really quick year, I’m sure we’ve had our shares of ups and downs especially while working together as a team during camp. And I definitely wouldn’t think I could’ve done it without your help (and Timmy’s too!)

I’m sure it’s going to be a great experience for you in U.K (or was it Scotland?). I’ve never been there myself so I don’t quite know what to say but just continue to be who you are when you’re there and continue to find strength, peace, comfort and joy in Him. Be safe and be inspired. Oh and don’t worry about Timmy, I’ll make sure he won’t get married anytime soon while you’re away. Hehe! Take care and make the best out of everything there alright?

Andrew Tan Teck Ho. Better known as Teck…Mr. SarcasTeck. To say that I’m happy that you’re leaving would be really mean of me unless you can detect sarcasm in between the lines. But no, really I’m pretty much happy for you to see that you’ve finally achieved one of your dreams to head off far far away from here. No doubt I’m sad that you’re leaving (serious lah this time no sarcasm) cause life’s going to be a little bit dull now without sarcasm but lame-ness *coughs* all around and also no more small eyes to pick on. Eh, maybe when you come back from U.K, your eyes might be bigger ‘cause got more girls for you to “cuci mata” there. Haha! Don’t deny, I’m sure you can’t wait for that part!

I’m sure we’ve pretty much bonded way too much over the past year or so. But most of the time it's for the better. We’ve had our fair share of ups and downs and also little talks here and there and I just can’t be grateful enough to know that you were always there, willing to listen despite unnecessary sarcastic remarks here and there. But that’s just you I guess. Remember that short conversation we had on our way to lunch ‘once upon a time’ where you say you want to be a prayer warrior? You better make sure you achieve that when you come back. I hope that you will continue to stay focus spiritually and pray that you will be an influence for Him to the people around you when you’re there. Will definitely miss you heaps and probably just a bit of your sarcasm while you're gone. Keep safe and have fun eating lots of mee goreng buddy!

So with 2 more leaving tomorrow, i wonder who's going to be next? Please don't let it be this year again. *cross fingers*

aww...

people leaving???

that's almost part of bruneian youth culture... to have someone leave by the time they're in their late teens or early twenties.

it's an awful truth... but i'm sure you'll see him again.

but it'll be okay! because if you don't get to see Mr. SarcasTeck again i'm sure you can listen to some Teckno to enlighten you.
