19 till I almost die?

As most of you know, (most but not all..) i've just turned 19 yesterday. Thank you to those who have sent warm birthday messages which have definitely made me feel special.

I could still remember that during my previous birthdays, i have this desire to make it the best birthday party. I'll only be happy if i get the presents that i want. I would always call tonnes of friends to celebrate it with me and of course, try to receive more angpows (red packets) from my parent's friends.

But my 19th birthday would be the best so far. There weren't any presents nor were there any parties. There's definitely no angpows. This birthday, the whole world was celebrating with me because it fell on Easter Day. And it's my first time, that over 600+ people who attended the Easter service from St' Andrews Church sang a birthday song to me. The best present i received was a prayer made by Reverend. However, i also received one of the worst present this year. Getting "roti canai-ed" by my friends.

Definition of roti canai?

Standard definition: A type of toasted bread filled with butter & kaya that are usually taken during breakfast.

YDM's definition: Getting everyone to pile up on the victim.

Mind you, there were almost 4 -5 huge guys around. Thank goodness my parents build me up with strong bones filled with protective fats around it if not i think my ribs would've given way and all my organs would come spilling out of from my mouth. A wonderful birthday with a painful present. It's unique i guess...

I can't explain it, but having you be a part of YDM and all our lives since so long ago when you were still a SAS kid... it makes me feel glad to see you back here again. It makes me glad to see you around at YDM and to hang out with you and to crack jokes with you. It makes me glad to have celebrated your birthday on Easter and to have agreed and said 'Amen' to the prayer that Reverend said for you. And it makes me glad to know that God is in your life, and I hope and pray He always will be.

Happy birthday again, Ron.
